Conventional Dairy and Arable Farming

Pedigree British Friesian cows graze excellent grassland pastures in the summer and feed on home-grown silage wheat and beans in the winter. Their milk goes to the Lag Farm yogurt dairy, where much is made of its quality, traceability and guaranteed GM-free status.

Though grazing land, arable farmland and the herd are currently in conversion to full organic status, the land has always been managed with minimum external inputs, great efforts to sustain the natural ecology of the land plus effective use of crop rotations and the natural fertiliser that is an inevitable but valuable by-product of 420 healthy cows..
