RoSPA Diamond Award For Yeo Valley
The QSA auditor Dave Scott carried out a gruelling three week comprehensive Health & Safety Audit for RoSPA. He visited all of Yeo Valley's sites to inspect the H&S systems, to question our people and to make his own observations as he toured the workplace.
- The objectives of his audit were as follows:
- To provide an overview of the SMS assessing (sampling) performance against HSG 65
- To provide recommendations for improvement
- To aid development of action plans
- To provide a benchmark against which to measure improvement
HSG65 is "a practical guide for directors, managers, health and safety professionals and employees representatives who want to improve health and safety in their organisations."
The great news is that every site scored the top Level 5 - the Diamond Standard achieved by only a very few companies in the UK.
Cannington Dairy, Blagdon Dairy and the Supply Chain -Isleport and Axbridge, all improved their audit scores compared to last time - all scored more than 90% - showing a real progression in our management of Health and Safety.
But for Newton Abbot Dairy, this was their first RoSPA audit so it was particularly pleasing that they achieved the Level 5 too, also with a score of over 90% - no mean feat for such a new operation.
The RoSPA audit results reflect the immense amount of hard work and commitment that is applied every day to Health & Safety issues across Yeo Valley. It's a commitment to making our workplace safer by design but also a commitment to operate our sites with safety very much to the forefront of what we do.
Congratulations to everyone directly involved in the audit, but also to us all for the vital part we play in making Yeo Valley such an exemplary business when it comes to Health and Safety.
