Yeo Valley stand at Glastonbury Festival!

Once again Yeo Valley had a stand at the Glastonbury Festival. Providing great quality dairy products to festival-goers has increased over the last two years and the stand has become busier each year. In 2004 we sold over 25,000 big pots of yogurt and frozen yogurt, this year we aimed to break the record.

The festival attracts around 150,000 people who start arriving on the Wednesday morning; the music starts on Friday and finishes on Sunday. With so many people, Worthy Farm near Pilton Pyramid as seen by YVbecomes a small tented city with a huge number of market stands selling food, drink, clothing, camping equipment and Wellington boots (just in case).

The Yeo Valley crew, arrived on the Monday morning to start the task of putting the stand together, ready to start selling yogurt, compote and frozen yogurt from Wednesday through to Sunday.

The Yeo Valley team could see the famous Pyramid Stage from the empty gap that awaited the Yeo Wooden pallet floor for standValley stand. Work got underway unloading everything and carefully moving the refrigerated trailer alongside the freezer truck.

Unloading continued while lunch was being barbecued, the roof of the stand was first to be pieced together. Wooden pallets were put down for flooring and the lights installed, while the banners were fitted to the front of the stand.

The work on the stand was finally finished after four hours in the sunshine. Next the ‘luxury’ sleeping quarters were raised at the back of the stand.

Then the Yeo Valley stand-building team (Martin, Ed, Mark, Sarah, Yeo Valley stand build team 20-Jun-05Gary, Claire and Lou), gathered for a celebratory photo call in the hot sunshine.
